Single-file deployment
The entire application — routing, auth, admin UI, block editor, AI integration, blog, media library — lives in one index.php. Upload it to any host that runs PHP. Visit your domain. Done.
MonolithCMS is an entire production-grade CMS — routing, auth, AI generation, block editor, blog, media library, caching, and admin — in a single index.php you can upload in 30 seconds. Even this site was built with MonolithCMS.
A deliberate architectural decision: one file, zero framework, zero vendor directory, zero cloud account. Capability you’d expect from a full-stack framework — shipped as a single upload.
The entire application — routing, auth, admin UI, block editor, AI integration, blog, media library — lives in one index.php. Upload it to any host that runs PHP. Visit your domain. Done.
The database is SQLite: one file, site.sqlite. Moving a site is two cp commands. Every page, post, user account, revision, and setting comes with it. New server, client handoff, staging — two files.
Describe your project in plain language. Connect OpenAI, Claude, or Gemini — switchable from the admin. The AI designs the full site from first principles: colour palette, typography scale, page structure, and all block content. No templates.
bcrypt at cost 12. HMAC-SHA-256 CSRF tokens. IP-based rate limiting: 5 attempts per 15-minute window. Email MFA with 6-digit codes expiring in 10 minutes. .htaccess blocks database access on first request. Nothing to configure.
Full-page HTML cached for 1 hour. Nav, header, and footer cached separately. Theme CSS cached by content hash. Cache is event-driven — changing content triggers the right invalidation. A new index.php clears stale caches automatically.
Open source under the GNU General Public License v3. Self-hosting is fully permitted. There is no phone-home, no cloud dependency of any kind. Your data is in a file on your server. Your code is a single file you can read from top to bottom.
Every page, blog post, media file, user account, revision, and setting lives in site.sqlite. Copy two files. Your entire site is on a new server, or handed off to a client, or cloned to staging — with full fidelity.
No database export. No schema recreation. No media re-upload. Two files.
The AI generation workflow is non-destructive at every step. Preview the full site before a single character is written to the database. Edit, approve, or reject — you stay in control.
Brand, audience, visual direction, pages needed, any copy you already have. Plain language.
Harmonised colour palette, fluid typography, page-by-page block structure, all HTML and CSS. No templates, no presets.
See the full-site preview with editable blocks. Edit individual sections, regenerate a single page, or approve the whole plan.
Approve the plan and clicking Apply writes all pages, theme, nav, header, and footer to the database in one atomic operation.
The client gets a clean admin with role-based access. You get a site you can hand off in an afternoon, not a week.
“Unlike tools that generate a site and leave you stuck with it, MonolithCMS puts you in control at every step. Reject the plan and it’s gone. Approve and it’s done.”
The same project brief, sent to three different AI providers. See how OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini each interpret the same instruction — different palettes, different layouts, same CMS.
An architecture firm site generated entirely by Claude. Full page structure, colour palette, typography, and copy — first principles, no templates.
